Flash design

Flash can greatly enhance your visitors experience by adding animation, sound, video but there are a few things to consider. The downside of using Flash technology is that you need a plug-in (a small application that adds functionaliy to your browser called a Flash Player) in order to view Flash content. However, recent statistics reported that 98.3% of web users can seamlessly view Macromedia Flash content as they already have the plug-in installed.

Another issue with Flash content relates to the navigation and accessibility of your website. This is a whole other area which can be explored under the accessibility and usability links on this website.

Professionally designed and programmed Flash can be the most stimulating sites on the web but these are few and far between. More common is the superfluous, ill conceived use because it does cool things. Be careful if considering this option as to do it right could cost more than some of the alternatives.
